The following homework has a 30 points value. 1. Gather a variety of textbooks:science,social studies,math,etc. (5pts) 2.Skim the books to find an example of each kind of text structure. (5 pts.) Cause and effect Problem and solution           10 pts. Examples Chronological order 3.Discuss why each text structure is suited to the topic. (5pts.) 4. Share list of books you used on your homework. (5pts.) Homework will be turned in on next class meeting. It can be computer or clean hand written. 8 x 11" paper.

Dear Students, Christmas is an opportunity for you to spend it with your family and reflect on the good things and not so good during this year that is about to end. I invite you to count the blessings in your life and appreciate all the experiences in and out the classroom, your sport and your everyday life. Welcome back! After a well deserved rest, it's time to take action again. This week we will continue with the professions topic as part of our Walking into the future unit. The project that you will work on will be the following: You will create  an employment ad and will prepare a resume that meets the qualification standards for that job. You will build your resume based on the steps discussed in class. You will also answer the following questions in complete sentences: 1. Why you chose that job? 2. What makes you a good candidate for the job? 3. What kind of contribution you can make to this job? The project will include the following: I. Cover (5 pts.) II. Newspaper job ad (10 pts.) III.
